Who We Are

Patriot Point is owned and operated by Patriot Point, LLC, a single member limited liability company under the Military Bowl Foundation.

The Military Bowl Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit entity that organizes the annual Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman, NCAA-sanctioned postseason college football bowl game. The DC Bowl Committee also runs the DC Touchdown Club, which annually hosts an Awards Dinner recognizing the best in local football, as well as a Golf Tournament to benefit the Bill Phillips Memorial Fund, which supports wounded service members, former student-athletes and others facing challenging circumstances, and now own Patriot Point, a wounded service members retreat.

The mission of the Military Bowl Foundation is support and honor our nation’s military by hosting a premier regional event benefiting the USO and other organizations supporting members of the Armed Forces and their families. Since 2010, the Bowl has donated more than $600,000 to the USO and provided nearly 25,000 complimentary tickets for troops and their families. In addition to directly supporting the USO, the annual Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman will support the operations of Patriot Point.

In April 2016, the Military Bowl Foundation established Patriot Point LLC and purchased the property now known as Patriot Point. Since its inception, the Military Bowl has been deeply committed to highlighting the incredible sacrifices of our nation’s military and giving back to our veterans and service members.

Given its success, the leadership of the Military Bowl Foundation set out to do more. They began to explore ways to expand their impact in the community and for the nation’s wounded service members. They set their sights on the development of a dedicated property designed to make accessible recreational and other activities during soldiers’ time of healing.

Thanks to generous donations by Founding Partners Stuart Plank and the Taishoff Family Foundation in addition to $500,000 in state capital funding approved by the State of Maryland, Patriot Point is now a reality. There are short- and long-term plans to help Patriot Point maximize its impact for those who were injured while serving.
