Patriot Point has the ability to allow our service men and women the chance to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax in a healing environment.
In April 2016, the DC Bowl Committee, which operates the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman college football postseason bowl game, established Patriot Point LLC and purchased the property now known as Patriot Point. Since its inception, the Military Bowl has been deeply committed to highlighting the incredible sacrifices of our nation’s military and giving back to our veterans and service members. Since 2010, the Bowl and its related entities have raised and donated more than $750,000 to military organizations such as the USO.
Given its success, the leadership of the DC Bowl Committee set out to do more. They began to explore ways to expand their impact in the community and for the nation’s wounded service members. They set their sights on the development of a dedicated property designed to make accessible recreational and other activities during soldiers’ time of healing.
Thanks to generous donations by Founding Partners Stuart Plank and the Taishoff Family Foundation in addition to $500,000 in state capital funding approved by the State of Maryland, Patriot Point is now a reality. There are short- and long-term plans to help Patriot Point maximize its impact for those who were injured while serving.
Whether it is hunting, fishing, boating, sitting on the porch reading a book, art or simply relaxing on the dock or beach while gazing at the calm waters and gentle tide, Patriot Point has the ability to allow our service men and women the chance to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax in a healing environment.
